Equitrac: PIN1 vs. PIN2 Authentication

Troubleshooting Equitrac: Resolving PIN1 vs. PIN2 Authentication Issues and Connectivity Tests

EveryonePrint has been integrated with Equitrac for Mobile Printing, following the instructions provided in the EveryonePrint Integration with Equitrac Guide.

Issue:

It is not possible to verify Equitrac connectivity with a test user, or the authentication with Equitrac fails.

Resolution:

EveryonePrint integration with Equitrac, by default uses PIN2 for authentication.

If you are not using a secondary PIN in Equitrac, then you need to modify the EveryonePrint setup as outlined in section '4.1.4 Storing passwords in PrimaryPIN or SecondaryPIN' and adjust the eop.xml file accordingly:

  • Stop the EveryonePrint Web service
  • Make a backup copy of <Program Files(x86)>\EveryonePrint\eop.xml
  • Edit <Program Files(x86)>\EveryonePrint\eop.xml in an editor such as Notepad
  • Search and edit :
    <extauthcfg6>1</extauthcfg6><extauthcfg7>1</extauthcfg7>
  • Save the file and start EveryonePrint Web service
  • Now you can login at EveryonePrint Web portal using Equitrac credentials :
    • EOP username = Equitrac user ID
    • EOP password = Equitrac PIN 1
If you're using secondary PIN in Equitrac, then:
  • Edit eop.xml with above method
  • Search and edit:
    <extauthcfg6>2</extauthcfg6><extauthcfg7>2</extauthcfg7>
or
<extauthcfg6/><extauthcfg7/>
  • Now you can login at EveryonePrint Web portal using Equitrac credentials :
    • EOP Username = user ID, Full name, PIN1
    • EOP Password = PIN2
