TRAVELING THE WORLD TO
GET TO Y SOFT
I joined Y Soft over 14 years ago, in January 2010, and before this, I worked in a few different countries. Spending a year in Ireland I worked as technical support for horse racing bookmakers. I also studied English in Australia. After spending some time traveling in Australia, with my now wife, I began looking for a job in the Czech Republic.
I wanted to make use of my experiences abroad and began looking at companies that operated globally. Y Soft quickly grabbed my attention. However, I worked in two other positions in the Czech Republic before becoming a YSofter, but it was here that I finally found my place.
OFF TRAVELING AGAIN
I joined the company as a Junior Technical Consultant all those years ago. Back then my job consisted of providing telephone support and solving tickets. Later, I began to give training, that’s when I really began to enjoy my job. After a while, I started traveling to customer installations.
I spent three months in the U.K and several weeks in Singapore. I even got to go back to Australia, where I spent a total of two months. Helping to improve our technical support levels, I spent a year in France. I’ve also enjoyed helping in Israel, the USA, and India. I visited many countries and reignited my passion for traveling from my pre-Y Soft days.
NEVER LEAVE A JOB UNFINISHED
Over the years, I have worked my way up to the position of Senior Technical Consultant. I also help with resource planning in our department. What I enjoy most about my job is solving a customer’s issue and seeing them relieved and happy. I enjoy the variety my job offers, the travel, and the direct customer contact. My motto is: ‘never leave a job unfinished.’ To do this you have to be in complete agreement with the customer that the issue has been resolved.
KEEPING THE WORLD IN BALANCE
When I am not devoting my time to our customers, I devote it to my family. I have always spent a lot of my free time doing sport, which is now something I do with my children. When I can drag myself out of the house, I like to go running. Besides that, my wife and I enjoy dancing, occasional poi spinning, and fire shows.
I also like to spend some time on self-improvement. I am interested in ecological issues and in achieving a balanced world. My vegetarianism reflects that. Bringing up my children to be environmentally responsible is important, and we collect litter when we see it. Among other things, it’s the socially responsible activities that I value at Y Soft. It‘s not just about business, it’s also about developing and helping the world around us.
